I love spring when all buds are looking promising and the garden starts to show of its colors. It is really nice to see what was hiding in the ground. The first picture shows Judas penning (or translated by Google: Judas money). I don't know if this is the correct translation. I always learned from my mum that money does not grow in trees. But it might grow in shrubs then anyway. I shall tell her next time when I ever want something expensive :-). I'm a bit sad that I missed another growing season. I was just too bussy with my glass house. I did sow soon enough but I got a very badly managed form of lice in my plants that were growing inside (did see all little seedlings dwindle a little in their pots. Bu just descovered today that they are covered with lice. Normally I try to get rid of lice by spraying a mixture of 1/3 water, 1/3 green soap, 1/3 spirit. But with salad leaves I rather not want to spray those. So I just threw away my salad and only sprayed the plants that I could spray parts that I wouldn't eat (like tomato's and pumkins.
From the moment I purchased this house I was certain to add a glass house to it. And here it is. I fear I do not have pictures that shows how it was placed. The farmer who placed it (who was really kind and had hands like shovels) told me that he disliked having pictures taken. And so I needed to hold off my camera. But it is secured to the ground nicely (it is based on 4 concrete pillars). The man told me that he got by by placing these kinds of glass houses next to having 150 cows. This was the second one in his fifteen years of experience that he needed to place a white glass house. Oddly enough, most people want green or black glass houses. But he agreed with me, it did look nice with my house, having a white one. I'm quite ashamed that I did not keep this part of the blog as updated as I would wish. But on a misty morning I made these photo's from my grape with spiderwebs. The grape is on its verge to press out those light green fresh and lucious leaves of him. The bird feeder (that in the opinion of my family could also feed a ostrich without falling over- I always make my stuff heavy dutty :-)) is replaced to this section, because my glass house was in the way. A friend of mine has three children and they brought a bunch of little frogs from school to home. This is technically not a real garden update, but it somehow matches, because next year I want to build a pond (this year I'm far to busy with my little glass house. I sure need to start making pictures of that so that you can see how it looks like. Last weekend we laid in the floor, looking like wood, but actually it is PVC. It is really great looking!

AuthorHi, I'm Bregtje. Here you can find me with my head up side down in the garden. But I also can be found with my head in a newly home made cupboard or above the kitchen stove or even between piles of paper, sticking stuff in arty albums and brushing away with paint! And now I'm developing a new hobby to add to my ever growing project list: blogging about it all! Please find my Garden blog, Kitchen blog, Homemaking blog and Arts blog here! Archives
