I must confess things are going slower then I want. I really wanted to remove all stuff from this border and try to organize it a bit more and have the grasses removed. But I simply am too late. If I remove everything now, all plants with flowers will drop them. So I will do this next year. But on the good news: I have my own water barrel!!! It is looking like wood, but actually it is plastic, so it will hopefully never leak and still look beautiful. It is not really big: 60 liters, but it is a start!
I'm not the only one who loves poppies, look and see what yellow and black stripped guys are loving them too.
Its amazing how those youngsters are not afraid of anything yet (or they simply don't know how to fly away when they are afraid). When sowing some beams mum nun decided it was time for their youngsters to leave the nest, which was really close by. And so I could see the first awkward flying lessons mum gave from up close.
O, I love these tender little flowers that just show up for a day. I quickly made these pictures for evidence: they did bloom! And yes it is really dry right now, it almost looks like my unions are growing in the dessert. And I have a voluntary potato plant as well (this patch was for potatoes last year).
It took a lot of bullying of my sowing machine, but here you have it, my home made sun screen that is really extending into the garden, making my seating area shady and cosy, I truly love the end result. Look at my video on the homemaking page to see how I created it.

AuthorHi, I'm Bregtje. Here you can find me with my head up side down in the garden. But I also can be found with my head in a newly home made cupboard or above the kitchen stove or even between piles of paper, sticking stuff in arty albums and brushing away with paint! And now I'm developing a new hobby to add to my ever growing project list: blogging about it all! Please find my Garden blog, Kitchen blog, Homemaking blog and Arts blog here! Archives
