Fall clean up is now really necessary. But some of my plants are still producing, like my zucchini, look at them grow!
The cucumber plant is trying to press out one last cucumber. I don't know if I'm entirely happy with its produce. It did give me 3 cucumbers, which is 3 more then last year. But the skin was quite hard and in took loads of time before the first cucumber was emerging. The flowers were pretty though. And he did like the heat of my walls where he was placed against. Perhaps, when I have my awesome glass house I shall try again. I think the warm inside shall provide
I must say, it does work: tomatoes in buckets. I tried that this year for the first time, and they did not have any blight to speak of. Now it is just a matter of keep picking (which I sometimes was forgetting, hence the red marbles on the floor). They also carried tomatoes for a long time, so I'm quite impressed with them. I did like the taste of the smaller ones opposed to the bigger ones. And yet again I did not have a chance to bake green tomatoes (which I shall certainly do one day, but I fear not this year).
I know I know, I should have tighten them up a little better. But I seriously needed a crane for some of my sunflowers to be able to reach the highest point. But one stormy day knocked them over and now they are all flat. Such a pity sight. I cut them and make flower bushes from them. I shall paint them like Van Gogh so they were not cut short in life in vain. There they go, my precious sunflowers. The remaining sunflowers do look pretty on my new homemade table.

AuthorHi, I'm Bregtje. Here you can find me with my head up side down in the garden. But I also can be found with my head in a newly home made cupboard or above the kitchen stove or even between piles of paper, sticking stuff in arty albums and brushing away with paint! And now I'm developing a new hobby to add to my ever growing project list: blogging about it all! Please find my Garden blog, Kitchen blog, Homemaking blog and Arts blog here! Archives
