I made the card using heavy white cardstock (12 x 12 cm) and used several gift wraping papers. The little guy that is waving (it supposed to be a monkey, but I fear you can't really tell), I drew and coloured myself.

I found a world of craft people in the Netherlands (I was guided by Miranda to these blogs). On one of the blogs I even found a challenge. I must admit, I uploaded the picture below several times because I kept forgetting stuff, like the embellishments in the corners or even the title. But here it is, I competing in my very first challenge on
Creaine-challenges blog. I made the card using heavy white cardstock (12 x 12 cm) and used several gift wraping papers. The little guy that is waving (it supposed to be a monkey, but I fear you can't really tell), I drew and coloured myself. Hello everybody, I made a Happy new year card for my blog followers (see the rest of the slideshow if you wish to see how I made it). I wish everybody a very nice new year and may all your wishes and creative goals come true in 2014! I made my own little Santa today. I had seen one in a shop and found it so funny that I decided to make one for my brother and later on I also made one for a friend. I hope that by now my intended receivers did already get their Christmas cards from me, for otherwise I now spill the gift they shall find in their post box. I was really excited to go to this workshop. I've never followed a workshop before and I've never worked with distress inks and twinkle inks as well. I found this workshop online when I was in search of people who would wish to scrap together. This is not exactly the same, but I did love it. It turns out that in a neighboring village they have a tiny but very sweet craft shop, that organizes workshops. I marbled about the amount of craft paper the little shop carried. We first got assigned the job of looking for 2 pieces of craft paper and 2 pieces of card stock. That was really difficult, they had so much beautiful paper! We then learned bit by bit how to color our little images. This was quite similar to water coloring, so I did know the principle. But the colors are really beautiful. And the twinkle inks did have a slight twinkle to them (only this is hard to see on the pictures I took). I had loads of fun making this card, but my journey continues to meet craft-minded people that wish to scrapbook together in person or by skype. Many thanks to my teatcher Miranda who taught me the techniques I used here.
I do like the final result of this album. It is always funny that even though you make layout by layout, the end result - when everything comes together - might sometimes be disappointing. But in this instance I do like the final product. Enjoy these lasts set of pics. |
AuthorHi, I'm Bregtje. Here you can find me with my head between piles of paper, sticking stuff in arty albums and brushing away with paint. But I also can be found with my head in a newly home made cupboard or above the kitchen stove or even up side down in the garden! And now I'm developing a new hobby to add to my ever growing project list: blogging about it all! Please find my Garden blog, Kitchen blog, Homemaking blog and Art blog here! Archives
