I never knew that beets were so tasty, until I ate them from my own ground. It is funny that you feel a bit inapt when you pull one out of the ground and don't know how to prepare them. Because I always had them canned and thus cleaned, I wondered if I should get off the skin. And how long to boil them... But the best way you eat them is chopped in a salad, with pears, feta cheese, pepper and salt, lovely!
