I'm the worst when it comes to remembering flower names, but that doesn't matter for I do like the sight of them already tremendously, and adding the (scientific)
Garden turnips, never heard, saw or ate them before. But they are great sliced thinly on bread. A bit like a radish taste.
There is only one thing left to do: harvest immediately the ones not touched yet, red or green... I shall try to fry them, that is supposed to be the only thing you can do with green tomato's.
O dear, that's what you get if you are too much of a newbie in the garden, you think that the leafage of the tomato plans are lovely and swell. Then you read that you must get rid of the sprouts in between the thicker branches. But why you ask, all looks lovely. Well this is why! Due to a wet burst, a mold got through my beautiful tomato's to kill them all.
Apparently you can eat these pumpkin flowers. I haven't tried them yet, I'm too anxious to get enough pumpkins (you can never have enough pumpkins in my opinion).

AuthorHi, I'm Bregtje. Here you can find me with my head up side down in the garden. But I also can be found with my head in a newly home made cupboard or above the kitchen stove or even between piles of paper, sticking stuff in arty albums and brushing away with paint! And now I'm developing a new hobby to add to my ever growing project list: blogging about it all! Please find my Garden blog, Kitchen blog, Homemaking blog and Arts blog here! Archives
