I'm not really liking this lady, I tried to paint like van Gogh again, but the image didn't turn out right. Though I did have a brilliant idea; why not paint the paintings that are shown in his letters (he drew out a lot of what he created for his brother Theo to see his progress. Although a lot of paintings were lost over the years after his death, most of the letters send to Theo were kept and so we do know how -at least the paintings he wrote about - looked like. I've found a wonderful site that shows all letters of van Gogh that we still have today. They are also translated in English for those who are not so good in Dutch or English. Here hands are a bit awkward as well, but they were also when van Gogh painted them I do thing I know why this isn't looking like a van Gogh; it is too smooth and here head is far too small. I don't think that Van Gogh was the man for small details, he was more into big brush strokes. I certainly need to try my hands at oil paint. Perhaps that will result in better results.
