I thought it might be nice to show you (and my future self) of what it looks like this moment, what kind of art is hanging on the walls and especially now I received a bunch of beautiful tulips from a friend where I was allowed to paint on the walls again (trees this time). The stone chicken on the kitchen table I received for my 33st birthday from a good friend and are a reminder of Kwik, Kwek and Kwak which once were residents here.

<![CDATA[Christmastree is standing proud again]]>Sun, 22 Dec 2013 20:37:59 GMThttp://dutchhomestead.weebly.com/homemaking-blog/christmastree-is-standing-proud-againI do believe I should spend more time and effort on this part of the blog. <![CDATA[My awesome homemade bench]]>Mon, 12 Aug 2013 15:02:18 GMThttp://dutchhomestead.weebly.com/homemaking-blog/my-awsome-homemade-benchI've personally designed and made this bench and acompanying table + little stool. Only the rocking chairs are bought. And as you can see for yourself, I do like to make things very sturdy and long lasting. This bench can be taken apart into pieces. You can end up with four of them (the backside can be lifted from the seating area, the seating area can be lifted from the sides. And the sides are just two loose pieces). If you would like to receive the building instructions, just send me a comment to this entry, and I send them to you.

<![CDATA[Flowers of the Amerillis ]]>Mon, 28 Jan 2013 17:34:09 GMThttp://dutchhomestead.weebly.com/homemaking-blog/flowers-of-the-amerillis

But this time it is standing proudly in a

<![CDATA[Sweet scents of hyacinths]]>Tue, 08 Jan 2013 18:20:33 GMThttp://dutchhomestead.weebly.com/homemaking-blog/sweet-scents-of-hyacinths
After the house is emptied of all Christmas decorations, I feel the need to replace it somehow. With the sweet scents of this stunning flower, you can carefully think about the coming spring.

Each Christmas I made new ornaments for my Christmas tree. This is the last one I made, with bread dough, all smiley faces in my tree!

For a very long time, me and some friends wished to have a true high tea. And this was the day it happened. It was great! Everybody made something wonderful. Scones with real clotted cream, beautiful cakes and biscuits. I did the pies and sandwiches, it was grand and great fun!

<![CDATA[Like dried flowers]]>Sat, 13 Oct 2012 18:59:59 GMThttp://dutchhomestead.weebly.com/homemaking-blog/like-dried-flowers
I like dried flowers in the house. They are so easy. Never mind if I forgive to water them. Stay pretty and fragile all the way. I can stare quite some time at the petals, they are so colourful in all their shades of greyish pink, just wonderful.
